A Resurrection Song
There are flowers in the trees
And the branches hum with bees
Dancing gladly in the breeze
Among chirping chickadees
And the finch resting his wings
Returned to his diocese
To sing hymns and be at ease
Above the earth — fresh and green
Baptized new by rains of spring
Chipmunks gambol, squirrels tease
Bask in April’s soft sunbeams
Mother deer falls to her knees
Here to worship with the bees
By the gently flowing streams
Beneath this fragrant canopy
Of the soft and vibrant flowers in the trees
