The bells are ringing!

A brand-new hour!

A new chapter that holds the power

To transform dust into wildflowers

Let’s go out now!

            Let’s make it ours!

The bells are ringing!

            Mass is beginning!

The organ blasts

And the choir is singing!

We can hear them from this busy street

Let’s go in now!

            Let’s retreat!

From this chaotic bustling din

            Let’s go in now! Let’s go in!

The bells are ringing!

            And something is happening!

We were all on our knees

            Silent as trees

Then the bells rang out

And we all looked up!

The priest is holding the bread and cup

The sound of the bells

            Tells the congregation

To be aware

            Of the transformation

Upon the altar

            Look now! Don’t falter!

Think what’s contained in that holy cup!

Take a deep breath

            Say a silent prayer!

Then steady ourselves

            And let’s go up!
